BBQRVA is a project designed to explore the up-and-coming BBQ scene in Richmond, Virginia. I think that Richmond is just now coming into it’s own as a BBQ city and decided to start this blog to catalog and rate all of its offerings.

I don’t consider myself an expert by any means, but I’ve visited a handful of celebrated BBQ places across the USA. I also have worked in restaurants for years in a variety of roles, and have a degree from VCU in print and online journalism.

For now, the process is quite simple. I will order a pulled pork sandwich with coleslaw at each location. I’ll attempt to get a few good pictures before eating it. Then I’ll make a short post summarizing my experience and giving a rating. Once I have a few ratings compiled, I’ll post a running list of rankings.
